Python Job Details

For more than two decades, NVIDIA has pioneered visual computing, the art and science of computer graphics. With our invention of the GPU - the engine of modern visual computing - the field has expanded to encompass PC games, movie production, product design, medical diagnosis and scientific research. Today, visual computing is becoming increasingly central to how people interact with technology, and there has never been a more exciting time to join our team.
The NVIDIA Real-Time Rendering research team is the “high-beams” of NVIDIA’s rendering innovation. It is our responsibility to discover, define, and drive the future of the field—surprising our customers by solving problems they never imagined were possible to solve.
We are looking for a Visiting Research Scientist focused on material measurement, material acquisition, material modeling, and discovering the next frontier of realism in computer graphics. The candidate must be a Full Professor at a top tier university and be an internationally renowned leader in the field of material measurement and modeling. The position also requires decades of experience in material modeling and measurement, a strong publication record in this specific field, and a desire to lead the field into new directions and to pursue a combination of experimental, theoretical, and real-time implementation breakthroughs.
What you´ll be doing:
  • Inventing, publishing, and productizing new methods to measure, model, and render challenging materials including textiles at photoreal fidelity.
  • Implementing prototypes of your research ideas.
  • Transferring your successful ideas to NVIDIA product teams.
  • Collaborating with NVIDIA staff and external academic partners.
What we need to see:
  • World-renowned expert in material acquisition, measurement, and modeling.
  • Full professor in computer science at a top ranked university, specializing in computer graphics material acquisition, measurement, and modeling.
  • Ph.D. in computer science or related field with a specialization in computer graphics materials.
  • Deep understanding of rendering and differentiable rendering theory, material models, and computer graphics.
  • Extensive expertise and publication history in fiber and textile appearance modeling.
  • Expertise in computational electromagnetics and methods for simulating optical scattering.
  • Strong publication record demonstrating thought leadership in material modeling and measurement.
  • Strong coding skills with knowledge of C/C++, Python, GPU graphics programming models, CPU parallel programming, and automatic differentiation.
With highly competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package, NVIDIA is widely considered to be one of the technology world’s most desirable employers. We have some of the most brilliant and talented people in the world working for us. If you're a creative and autonomous research scientist with a genuine passion for real time graphics technology, we want to hear from you!
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
